Through arrangements with Louisiana Baptist University, we can now offer you the means to earn both undergraduate and graduate course credit for degrees up to and including the Ph.D. through Koinonia Institute.

In order to transfer Koinonia Institute classes for college credit, students must pass the course with a grade of "C" or higher.  In addition, to qualify a course for LBU credit, the student must also submit a 5-10 page paper on a topic of their own choosing and written in compliance with Koinonia Institute Writing Guidelines . This paper must address at least one issue that was covered in the course that is being submitted for college credit.  It must be submitted to and approved by the Executive Director before the credit transfer can be accomplished.

When students are ready to complete their degree at LBU, their KI transcripts will be sent to Louisiana Baptist University. LBU will accept all KI course transcripts up to their transfer credit limit. They will accept 98 transfer credits for a B.A. (30 required from LBU); 15 towards a M.A. (21 by LBU); and, 30 for a Ph.D. (30 from LBU). Our classes fulfill Bible credit requirements at all levels (100-200 series classes become 500-600 for grad students), and LBU is the institution that will grant your degree.

Corban College (New College Credit Option)

If you already have at least 60 hours of college credit from an accredited institution and want to finish your BS or BA degree, Koinonia Institute is pleased to recommend Corban College in Salem, Oregon, USA, as a distance-learning option for you.

Corban is ranked by U.S. News & World Report as fifth in the Western United States for Best Baccalaureate Colleges for 2008. It has been ranked in the top 10 in this category for the last six years.  It is an independent Christian college with 45 majors and programs of study including professional, liberal arts and ministries, adult degree programs and graduate studies in education and an MBA.  Corban is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities.

All of Corban’s degree programs include a Biblical Studies component.  Your studies at KI may qualify for credit toward your Corban undergraduate degree if you are enrolled in their Adult Degree Program. Enrolled students may petition for college credit through Professional Schools and Training (PST) or by completing Life Learning papers.  Both of these options require documentation, matching to a college course(s) from an accredited college or university. Written papers are evaluated by Corban faculty regarding college-level learning outcomes achieved as a result of the experience(s).
